About Us and the Bus
By Joy
Thanks for visiting our site, Bus to Home.

We are Joy and David Langtry, technically middle aged, but forever young in hearts and minds. We are excited to share this project with you, and hope that you will visit frequently as we document our progress.
Our MCI bus was purchased in May of 2009 via eBay. It is a 1985 A3, and spent many years in Canada – Quebec, we believe, based on all the French signs throughout – then ended up in Florida as a Church bus. We are convinced that it transported many youth groups over the years, judging by the amount of gum we’ve found stuck to every conceivable surface (and a few inconceivable surfaces, too!).
The video below is a 10-minute composite of the first 4 video reports that we did, between May and August, 2009. On-going updates have and will be included in the blog posts. A few posts that have detailed background are here, here and here.

Thanks for visiting. We hope you’ll visit again as our story unfolds.

Hello Joy & David, My name is Steve and with Carol we live in… you guessed it Florida.. Cocoa I have come across your site while surffing and found my self wanting more LoL so where are you on the conversion??? I hope all is going as planned. It took me a year to build mine and as you know it is a lot of money and even more work. I really do not think that you are ever really done with a build of this nature. On Saturday mine goes in for a custom awning and will be gone 2 weeks. This is something I have put off for a year now but it is time. I have had mine done for a little over a year and have put many miles on it…. about 1,500 LoL but in my mind I am out every day. Steve

Hello David and Joy, As an owner of a 84 MC-9 that was converted many years ago and seeing all that they did on the conversion I can only say I Pray for your patience and wish you the best. We live in North Georgia and would love to use ours more than we do but Fuel is getting crazy. The man who did my bus prepared Autocad drawings for everything they did in the conversion and I would be glad to share them with you if they might be of help in anyway.
